Founded in 2022, My Daddy Taught Me Better Was established to Be A Resource In Communities For Children And Families. Whether Children, Teens And Even Parents are Troubled, Misguided, Underserved Or Underrepresented, Our Goal Is To Change The Trajectory Of Each Life That We Touch By Providing Resources And Support In a multitude of ways.

Each page of the MDTMB website houses a DONATE BUTTON that will allow those who wish to make a tax deductible contribution to do so. In addition, donations can be mailed to our home office. 

Our logo is a representation of the support that we provide for children and families from all walks of life.  Our founder and his six children were the inspiration behind the image.

MDTMB could never and would never dream of replacing mothers or fathers.  MDTMB is a resource for families.  Our purpose is to change the trajectory of underserved youths and provide resources for families that may not otherwise have access to them.  

MDTMB currently serves metro Atlanta, Douglas County  and Carroll county.  We are working to expand our reach in order to serve more children and families across the state of Georgia.

Sean P. Kendrick, Sr

  • Born to Paul Kendrick and Janie Glover, Sean P. Kendrick, Sr. was raised in Florida. Since his childhood, he always understood the impact of being raised in a 2 parent home. He also understood the impact of the roles his mother and father played in his development, learning valuable lessons from both.
  • As a proud graduate of Morehouse College (B.A., Psychology), Sean experienced firsthand the support, guidance, leadership, and cultivation of educated, successful, caring, and strong Black men. Their example also encouraged him to pursue his Master of Education and, subsequently, his Master of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. During his early career, he worked in a treatment facility for children with myriad behavioral health disorders and the Department of Family and Children’s Services.
  • Sean has since transitioned into entrepreneurship and as a husband and father of 6, he always tries to instill within his children values and principles that they can stand firm on at life’s crossroads. As his children grew and continue to grow older, “you know better than that” and “I know I taught you better than that” became constant refrains.

  • Raising children is no easy task and I pride myself on giving my children principles that they can live by. Rather than giving in to the pressures of society and peers,I want my children to be able to say, ‘My daddy taught me better!’ when faced with difficult decisions. When deciding between doing or not doing drugs, I want my children to be able to say ‘My daddy taught me better!’When deciding between potentially life altering choices, I want my children to have the fortitude to weigh consequences and not give in to “not looking cool” and simply going along with the crowd.

Jennifer Kendrick

  • Jennifer Kendrick is the Vice President of MDTMB. She is the wife of CEO Sean Kendrick. Mrs. Kendrick grew up in Atlanta and attended Atlanta Public Schools for her K -12 educational journey.
  • She went on to attend The University of West Georgia, American Intercontinental University and Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Education Specialist Degree in Leadership respectively. She is currently working on her Educational Doctorate Degree.
  • She is an 18-year veteran educator in the Atlanta area, having served in many capacities in Carroll County, Clayton County, Cobb County, Douglas County, and as an education consultant to an inner-city Charter School in Atlanta.
  • Mrs. Kendrick is looking forward to establishing relationships between “My Daddy Taught Me Better” and other community resources that will benefit young boys and girls. When asked about her passion, she responded that “The most important piece that we can give young children and teens is the opportunity to do better than they ever imagined. Once we show them the opportunity door, there is no limit to what they can do”.
  • How to build a social media crisis management strategy
  • Role: Jennifer will be responsible for assisting the President in successfully executing his or her duties. They may serve as head of special committees. In the President’s absence, they will assume his or her duties.

Robert Lee Jr.

  • Robert Lee is the Director- From joining the boy scouts in his early childhood years to becoming heavily involved in education as an adult. Robert Lee II brings with him 15+ years of education experience in the private and public sector.
  • Mr. Lee, as he is affectionately known, has taught and mentored inner-city youth for over a decade showing them the importance of entrepreneurship and developing tech skills through one of the many mentorships programs he has started.
  • Mr. Lee has a Bachelor of science in biology and is currently working on developing an entrepreneurship and tech curriculum for the K-12 school he currently works for. MDTMB is honored to have Mr. Lee as its director.
  • Role: Pastor Lee will be responsible for managing MDTMB’s daily operations and steering the organization to achieve its mission and vision.

Gloria Thomas

  • Secretary – A retired teacher from the Atlanta Public School System in Georgia, Gloria Thomas is an educational powerhouse with more than 30 years of experience. Ms. Thomas began her career in education in Southern Georgia after graduating in the top 10% of her class at Fort Valley State University.
  • In addition to teaching students in core academia, she has served as a basketball and track coach, teacher leader and a mentor to inner city youth in the Metro Atlanta area. The population of crime along with social and economic issues is widespread in several Atlanta neighborhoods. Many minority youth are incarcerated or victims of the city’s senseless violence. It is her desire to take part and strive for a change.
  • During Ms. Thomas’ career, she accessed invaluable experiences and knowledge and wants to see more of Atlanta youth exposed to the same opportunities.
  • Role: Will be responsible for distributing meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes. She will also ensure documentation is properly organized and that all actions are in line with the organization’s bylaws.

Janie Glover

  • Janie Glover is the Treasurer of MDTMB. After more than 42 years of honorable service, Janie Glover retired as Executive Director for the Naval Education and Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA), a U.S. Navy Command aboard NAS Pensacola.
  • She was the senior civilian and reported directly to the Commanding Officer where she managed the headquarters workforce and five detachments responsible for the training programs of more than 14,000 international students from more than 160 countries annually. She oversaw the development of an annual budget of more than $2.5B and defended the same to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for International Training. Ms. Glover was responsible for maintaining an annual strategic plan and also headed the Personnel and Performance Awards Review Boards and Human Resources Committee.
  • She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Global Master of Arts in International Affairs from Tufts University-The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
  • Ms. Glover has served in financial capacities for several organizations civic, religious and government.
  • Role: Janie will be responsible for overseeing your organization’s financial condition by keeping track of receipts and disbursements. She may serve as part of the finance team and present financial audit findings.
