Our Mission
The mission of MDTMB is to change the trajectory of the lives of underserved young people in the metropolitan Atlanta area and beyond. Our name indicates our mission: to ensure all individuals we serve can and will proudly say “My Daddy Taught Me Better!” We give youth the tools to make good decisions when having to choose between right and wrong. We show youth and young adults the multitude of possibilities that exist for them to accomplish Our goal is to disrupt and correct the social conditioning that is happening with some in this population. We will do this through serving within our 4 programmatic focus areas:
- Youth Development and Coaching
- Supplemental Educational Support
- Community Engagement
- Mental Health Services and Referrals
Encouraging Healthy, Active, and Motivated Learners
We work to ensure that every child has the resources, support, and opportunities they need to stay healthy, active, and fully prepared to learn. By promoting strong daily habits, providing essential tools, and creating safe spaces for growth, we empower children to show up confident—both in the classroom and in their communities. Our goal is to remove barriers that impact their well-being so they can focus on learning, thriving, and becoming their best selves.
MDTMB's Summary
MDTMB is dedicated to offering holistic social services to include, but is not limited to, Youth Development and Coaching through mentoring and life skills development, Supplemental Educational Support through tutoring and other educational programming, Community Engagement through notable guest speakers and community stakeholders, and Mental Health Services and Referrals through providing counseling, food and clothing assistance, housing assistance.
